About the cocktail

The Mai Tai is a great cocktail for the summer with a wonderful taste of dark and light rum and fresh lime juice. It’s a perfect drink for the rum lovers.

Mai Tai translates from Tahitian to mean “Out of this World”. It was purportedly invented at the Trader Vic’s restaurant in Oakland, California, in 1944. Trader Vic’s rival, Don the Beachcomber, claimed to have created it in 1933 at his then-new bar named for himself (later a famous restaurant) in Hollywood.

Ingredients

30 ml White rum
30 ml Dark rum
20 ml Orange juice
15 ml Blue curacao
15 ml Lemon juice
A lime slice for decoration

Instructions

Prepare a double Old Fashion glass with crushed ice. Add all ingrediants into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and shake very well. After that pour the mix drink into the glass. Decorate with lime slices.
